Armenian, Greek foreign ministry officials discuss development of relations

Secretary General of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Davit Karapetyan, met in Athens with Andreas Friganas, Head of the Directorate for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece.

According to a readout from the foreign ministry, the parties discussed bilateral relations between Armenia and Greece and emphasized the importance of further deepening cooperation within the framework of Armenia-EU partnership, highlighting the significance of the “Strategic Agenda for the Armenia-EU Partnership” signed on December 2.

The parties explored prospects for promoting cooperation in economic, educational, cultural, and other areas of mutual interest. Both sides stressed the importance of institutionalizing peace in the South Caucasus and unblocking regional communications as established through the Washington agreements.

David Karapetyan and Andreas Friganas also discussed measures aimed at effectively addressing challenges on the path of democratic development and strengthening Armenia’s resilience in this context.

The meeting also touched upon preparatory work for the European Political Community summit, which will be held in Yerevan next May.
