Pleased to move forward in the peace process together with the U.S.- Papoyan

Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan participated in an event organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia (AmCham) on December 8, the Ministry of Economy said in a readout.

In his speech, Papoyan emphasized the importance of the agreement reached in Washington on August 8, noting that it concerns not only the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the reopening of communications, but also creates new opportunities for the entire region.

"We are pleased to note that we are moving forward in the peace process with the world's leading economy and state-the United States. Together, we are implementing major projects, particularly the TRIPP initiative, which opens completely new horizons and opportunities in economic relations between Armenia and the United States," Papoyan said.

The Minister also addressed the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative.

During the meeting, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien presented the strategic directions and priorities that contribute to bilateral economic cooperation and institutional development.

The event was also attended by UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia Natia Natsvlishvili, Central Bank Governor Martin Galstyan, Chair of the Standing Committee on Financial, Credit, and Budgetary Issues of the National Assembly Tsovinar Vardanyan, Deputy Ministers of Economy Arman Khojoyan and Anushik Avetyan, Enterprise Armenia CEO Gohar Abajyan and delegates from diplomatic missions and international organizations.
