A French Cultural Center is planned for the Armenian town of Kajaran in Syunik province.
A memorandum of understanding establishing the framework for the center was signed in the commune of Saint-Chamond by Kajaran Mayor Manvel Paramazyan; Saint-Chamond Mayor Axel Dugua; Thierry Kovacs, Mayor of Vienne, Isère and head of the Auvergne–Rhône–Alpes – Syunik Sister Cities Network; and Hélène Ohandjanian, program coordinator of SPFA – Solidarité Protestante France-Arménie.
Kajaran City Hall reported that the memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation between the parties in promoting the French language and developing educational, cultural, and intercultural programs. The center is intended to become an important hub for French language instruction, cultural events, meetings, art programs, and the promotion of French culture. A joint committee will coordinate activities during the preparatory phase.
