Kiril Valchev was re-elected unanimously for a second five-year term as Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) on Thursday, Bulgaria's BTA News Agency reported.
All 170 MPs attending the plenary sitting voted in favour of his nomination.
After National Assembly Chair Raya Nazaryan declared Valchev's election, he took the oath of office required by the law, swearing to observe the Constitution and the laws of the land and discharge in good faith his duties as BTA Director General, being guided by the principles provided for in the Bulgarian News Agency Act.
Nazaryan wished him a successful term in office.
"BTA will remain the place for real news from everybody and everywhere, with a clear source, non-judgmental and freely accessible, in the service of all media," Valchev said, addressing the legislature after his election.
