The European Union will provide 15 million euros to Armenia, which will be directed toward strengthening peace and resilience, EU’s top diplomat Kaja Kallas said.

She made the announcement at a joint press conference with Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan and EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos in Brussels.

“Several initiatives will be implemented — training in demining, and the provision of equipment,” Kallas said.

The High Representative noted that Armenia also faces challenges in the information domain, but it has the support of the European Union in this area as well.

“Russia and its proxies are conducting disinformation campaigns in Armenia ahead of the parliamentary elections. We see the same networks that were used in Moldova, meaning the scenario is the same. EU funding will help detect and respond to such influences,” Kaja Kallas stated.
