Justice minister, international partners discuss reforms

Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan met with representatives of foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations to discuss reforms in Armenia’s justice sector, strategic programs, and upcoming priorities.

The ministry said in a press release that the discussion focused on the Ministry of Justice’s new strategic vision, the Armenia–EU visa liberalization process, the development of a new Constitution, anti-corruption and judicial reforms, the protection of human rights and personal data, reforms in the penitentiary and probation sectors, the digitalization agenda, and more.

The minister also noted that the ministry has developed a mapping document for cooperation with international partners, which will enable the identification of more targeted areas for collaboration.

Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, delivered remarks at the meeting.

“International partners presented their ongoing programs, outlined which areas of their programs align with the mapping document, and directed questions to Minister Galyan,” the ministry said.

The minister emphasized the importance of holding such discussions, which will contribute to further deepening cooperation for a justice system that is fair, transparent, and based on the rule of law.
