Interpol elects France's Lucas Philippe as new president

Interpol elected French police official Lucas Philippe as its president on Thursday, Reuters reported.

Philippe was elected for a four-year term during Interpol's general assembly in Marrakech.

The assembly brought together 886 participants from 179 Interpol member countries and 34 international organizations, to discuss issues including cybercrime, scam centers, organized crime and data protection, according to organisers.
