Common goal of Armenia and Georgia is peace and stability in the region - President Khachaturyan

During a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan assured that Armenia is doing everything to contribute to the deepening of relations with Georgia.

According to Georgian Public Television, President Khachaturyan noted that both countries strive for peace and stability in the South Caucasus.

'' I am very grateful to the Georgian government for the warm welcome. I just arrived yesterday, but I feel as if I have always been here. This is due to the attention shown to us and the environment created for our visit. I am sure it is also thanks to the personal relations of the prime ministers of our countries, the reliable partnership that strengthens our ties,'' he said.

“Such high-level meetings create new opportunities for both sides. Our common goal is peace and stability in the region, as well as internal political stability,'' President Khachaturyan added, expressing confidence that the peoples of Armenia and Georgia will appreciate the governments' efforts to preserve the sovereignty and independence of their countries.

During his visit to Tbilisi, President Khachaturyan also met with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
