Kazakh grain train en route to Armenia passes through Azerbaijan

A freight train consisting of 15 wagons carrying 1000 tons of Kazakh grain to Armenia has departed from Azerbaijan’s Bilajari Railway Station, the Azerbaijani Trend news agency reported.

The train is expected to arrive to Armenia via Georgia. The train had reached Azerbaijan on November 5.

Earlier on Thursday, the train carrying Russian wheat via Azerbaijan and Georgia arrived in Armenia, marking the first such rail transit in decades.

Armenia and Azerbaijan have lifted all restrictions on the transit shipment of goods to each other following the U.S.-brokered peace summit on August 8.
