Armenian Security Council Secretary meets with Russian counterpart

The Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, met with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Shoigu, according to the TASS news agency.

Shoigu said that the situation in the Caucasus “requires constant attention,” according to the Russian state news agency.

“It is important that we coordinate our actions. Everything related to recent developments in the region, particularly in the Caucasus and South Caucasus, requires our constant attention and consultations,” Shoigu said.

Grigoryan said he is “ready to provide details” about the situation in the region and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to hold the meeting.

A readout from Grigoryan’s office was not immediately available.

Moscow is hosting a meeting of Security Council Secretaries of CIS countries.
