EWF 2025 European Junior & U23 Championships: Armenia's Karapetyan wins gold

Armenian weightlifter Garik Karapetyan won gold at the 110kg men’s U23 category of the EWF 2025 European Junior & U23 Championships in Durrës, Albania, marking Armenia’s sixth gold in the tournament, the Weightlifting Federation of Armenia reported.

Karapetyan lifted 175 kg and 182 kg in the snatch event. With this result, he became the gold medalist in that discipline.
In the clean and jerk, he lifted 210 kg and 215 kg, placing second in this event.
With a total of 397 kg, Garik Karapetyan became the European U23 Champion.

Meanwhile, Armenia’s Petros Petrosyan, was unsuccessful in the snatch. In the clean and jerk, he lifted 210 kg and 221 kg, winning the gold medal in that discipline.
