Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has highlighted the significance of the Strategic Partnership Agreement signed between Armenia and China.
Speaking at the Orbeli Forum 2025: Building Peace and Multilateral Cooperation forum, Pashinyan referred to his administration’s Crossroads of Peace initiative, and stressed that an opportunity has emerged to transform Armenia into a real crossroads of peace.
“The strategic partnership document [with China] also references the Crossroads of Peace and Belt and Road initiatives. It is evident that the projects have overlaps in terms of content. These initiatives are not unique. Crossroads of Peace and TRIPP are points that can bring together content developed in different countries, and in my view, this will practically happen. One needs to be professional, consistent, and patient,” Pashinyan said.
The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) is a connectivity project in Armenia envisaged under the U.S.-brokered Armenian-Azerbaijani joint declaration signed in Washington, D.C. The project is expected to unlock strategic economic opportunities, creating long-term benefits by promoting infrastructure investment and enhancing regional connectivity. TRIPP is part of the Crossroads of Peace project.
The Prime Minister added that Armenia’s recent foreign policy emphases do not conflict with one another but rather complement each other, which is the essence of a balanced and balancing foreign policy.
“After the Washington Declaration, there were certain concerns among some partner countries, but over time, those concerns have not only been allayed, there is also interest from partner countries to participate in and be present in the ongoing processes. In this regard, I am encouraged by the opportunity to truly make Armenia a crossroads of peace,” the Prime Minister said.
