Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan delivered remarks at a ceremony marking the launch of the Police Guard, a new law enforcement body replacing the police troops.
Pashinyan thanked the officers for their service in the police troops, who are now serving in the new body.
“Today we are laying the foundation for a completely new service. And this is an important emphasis. We are not simply transforming the Police Troops into the Police Guard; we are creating a Police Guard. Of course, our past and the path we have taken remain with us and are valuable, but from today we are opening a new page in history. Our expectation is that the Police Guard will represent a qualitatively new service—for the Republic of Armenia, for citizens, and for the officers themselves,” the Prime Minister said.
