The government will allocate a total of 5,5 billion drams in 2026 for the development of the Yerevan metro network.
2 billion out of the 5,5 billion will be directed for the construction of the new station, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan told lawmakers on Friday.
“For the urban development program, 16.6 billion drams is allocated in the 2026 budget, under which a number of measures will be implemented. For the renovation of Yerevan Metro infrastructure, 2.5 billion drams is allocated; 2 billion drams is envisaged for the construction of a new station; and 1 billion drams is designated for the implementation of passenger transport services’ responsibilities. In total, 5.5 billion AMD is allocated for these three projects,” the minister said at a joint committee meeting in parliament on the 2026 state budget.
Earlier, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced that construction of the Ajapnyak metro station in Yerevan will begin in 2026.
