‘Historic’ peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan opens ‘new doors’, says Euronest PA Co-President

The Co-President of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, Sergey Lagodinsky, described the Armenian-Azerbaijani initialed peace treaty as a “historic achievement” in his remarks at the 12th Ordinary Session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly in Yerevan.

"The historic agreement, initialed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, has opened new doors. I see a genuine desire to move forward and prosper. This gives us hope that relations and partnerships will be built on trust,” he said.

Lagodinsky stated that the European Union's stance on the issue of peace is clear and unified.

'It doesn't matter how much misinformation is spread about our European stance; we unanimously and resolutely support this peace process,' he said.

Speaking about the Armenian parliament’s adoption of the EU bill, Lagodinsky said that this proves the country has chosen to advance on the path of democracy and European values.
