Armenia sees increase in transit flights and overflights

The number of transit flights through Armenia has increased, David Khudatyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, said at a joint parliamentary committee hearing on the 2026 state budget bill.
He noted that the policy of the Armenian government is to develop both domestic aviation and aviation in general.
“The number of transit flights through Armenia to other countries has increased,” the minister said.
He added that overflights have also risen, with Armenian air traffic controllers handling numerous flights passing through Armenian airspace.
“The number of flights managed by [Armenian Air Traffic Services] LLC has also increased, with the vast majority of these flights crossing Armenian airspace without landing in the country. Our role is to ensure their uninterrupted passage through Armenia, which generates additional revenue for the company and the Armenian state budget,” Khudatyan said.
