The problems facing Armenian freight drivers due to new Russian entry regulations are under discussion with Moscow, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said on Monday.

“We have been discussing the certain problems facing freight transport and Armenian drivers,” Mirzoyan said at a parliamentary committee hearing on the 2026 budget bill. “We know that the entry permit in Russia is set at 90 days. This, of course, contradicts Eurasian Economic Union regulations, but not only Armenian drivers are facing this issue, but also the nationals of the other Eurasian Economic Union member states. The issue is under discussion and we hope positive solutions will happen soon.”

He emphasized that the relations between Armenia and Russia remain “intensive and significant.”

He said that a number of meetings and phone calls have been held between officials from both sides, including PM Pashinyan and President Putin.
