Armenia and Iran are negotiating an agreement on a simplified “customs corridor”, State Revenue Committee Chairman Eduard Hakobyan said on Friday.

“Negotiations on signing a simplified customs corridor agreement between Armenia and Iran are in progress and are expected to conclude soon,” Hakobyan said at a press conference.

The SRC Chairman also provided updates on cooperation with Georgia.

“We are discussing a joint checkpoint and have formed a working group to provide combined services at the Gogavan-Guguti section,” he said.

Hakobyan added that cooperation with the United States has also resumed with significant momentum, focusing on capacity development, the procurement of customs system equipment, and the implementation of certain smart monitoring systems.
