CBD Secretariat ready to support Armenia in hosting COP17

The UN Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity has expressed commitment to support Armenia in hosting the COP17 next year.

“It was an honour to confer with H.E. Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan today,” Astrid Schomaker, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, said on X after meeting the Armenian Foreign Minister. “We at UN Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity are committed to working with UN Armenia and colleagues from across the UN system to support Armenia in hosting an inclusive and productive UN Biodiversity Conference in a year from now.”
