Armenian Justice Minister, Swedish Ambassador hold bilateral meeting

Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Srbuhi Galyan received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Armenia, Eva Sundquist.

According to a readout from the ministry, during the meeting the parties discussed several key areas, including the process of developing the new Constitution of Armenia, the digitalization agenda in the justice sector, and reforms in the field of human rights protection.

The discussion also covered the protection of the rights of vulnerable groups, the anti-corruption strategy, judicial reforms and initiatives aimed at reducing the workload of courts, capacity building for penitentiary and probation officers, and the establishment of an autonomous body for personal data protection.

The parties also explored the possible introduction of new programs with Swedish support, as well as prospects for further deepening cooperation within the framework of ongoing initiatives.
