President Khachaturyan's interview to Khaleej Times: Constitutional norms began to function after the Velvet Revolution

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan gave an interview to Khaleej Times, a magazine published in the United Arab Emirates.
In the interview, the President discussed the reforms implemented in Armenia following the 2018 Velvet Revolution, noting that they led to the strengthening of the rule of law, the prevention of corruption, and the creation of equal conditions for investors.
“After 2018, the norms enshrined in the Constitution began to function. It is about democracy, giving people the opportunity to govern, ensuring fair competition in the economy, upholding the rule of law and fighting corruption,” President Khachaturyan said.
The interview also noted that the United Arab Emirates has become Armenia’s largest foreign direct investor and second largest trading partner this year. The President stated that Armenia is inspired by the UAE’s development experience and expressed high appreciation for the bilateral relations between the two countries, emphasizing areas of mutual interest.
“I express my gratitude to the UAE authorities for creating favorable conditions for the establishment and development of the Armenian community,” Khachaturyan added.
The Khaleej Times issue also featured interviews with Armenia's Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan, Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan and Governor of the Central Bank Martin Galstyan.
