Armenia’s women’s squad finishes in Top 5 at European Team Chess Championship

Armenia’s women’s chess team secured a strong finish at the European Team Chess Championship held in Batumi, placing among the top five teams.

The Armenian women’s team tied for 4th–5th place but ultimately ranked 5th based on tiebreak criteria. A total of 36 national teams competed in the women’s section.

The Armenian women’s team featured players Lilit Mkrtchyan, Mariam Mkrtchyan, Elina Danielian, Maria Gevorgyan, and Susanna Gaboyan.

In the men’s section, Armenia placed 19th out of 40 participating teams. The men’s squad included Shant Sargsyan, Robert Hovhannisyan, Hayk Martirosyan, Gabriel Sargsyan, and Aram Hakobyan.

Poland claimed the championship title in the women’s division, while Ukraine emerged victorious in the men’s competition.
