Armenian Prime Minister arrives in Egypt for Sharm el-Sheikh international peace summit

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has arrived in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, to attend the international peace summit, his office said. 

The summit, which Egypt says aims “to end the war in the Gaza Strip, enhance efforts to bring peace and stability to the Middle East, and usher in a new phase of regional security and stability,” will be co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump.

The Armenian leader is attending the event at the invitation of President al-Sisi and President Trump.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and French President Emmanuel Macron are also among the participants.
