DigiTec has become top tech event in entire Caucasus, says EU official

Frank Hess, Head of Cooperation Department at the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia, said on Friday that he is impressed with Armenia’s achievements in the IT and innovation sectors.

He made the remarks at the opening ceremony of DigiTec 2025.

Hess noted that the EU Delegation is proud to be one of the event’s sponsors.

"I remember when I arrived in Armenia four years ago and attended DigiTec then—it was very different back then from what I see now. Today, the event is much larger in scale and richer in content. I believe DigiTec has become the most important event in the tech and digital sector not only in Armenia but across the entire Caucasus region. I think that is a major achievement," said Frank Hess.

He emphasized that the event is not the only way the European Union supports Armenia.

"We are proud to have supported Armenia in education as well, which is highly important because Armenia needs students and professionals capable of working in artificial intelligence and technology. We also support the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies. I am truly impressed by all the progress and accomplishments Armenia has achieved in these areas, and I congratulate you all," Hess added.

He expressed hope that next year’s COP17 forum in Armenia will be as successfully implemented as DigiTec.
