Eurasian Economic Union ready for new joint initiatives with the UN

Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Bakhytzhan Sagintayev, met with Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, to discuss cooperation.

Mr. Sagintayev and Ms. Valovaya discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Commission—the executive body of the Eurasian Economic Union—and various UN agencies.

Mr. Sagintayev expressed gratitude for the opportunity to organize the ongoing Eurasian Economic Union Days at the UN Office at Geneva, emphasizing its importance in deepening international dialogue.

“Amid global challenges, the importance of our dialogue is growing. We are ready for active cooperation to advance the integration agenda of the Eurasian Economic Union and to strengthen our partnership with the United Nations," Sagintayev said.
He also proposed organizing regular meetings of the heads of integration structures under the auspices of the UN, aimed at exchanging experience and developing joint initiatives.

The officials highlighted the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals as a key priority for global cooperation.

Visitors to the Eurasian Economic Union Days exhibition have the opportunity to explore the cultural heritage and natural diversity of EEU member states and to view the Union not solely from an economic perspective.
