A senior Armenian lawmaker representing the ruling Civil Contract party said on Friday that there were no obstacles to the normalization of relations with Türkiye.
“There are no obstacles to fully normalizing relations, and in this regard, we are waiting for Türkiye’s practical steps,” said MP Sargis Khandanyan, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs.
The MP also commented on the Turkish Airlines announcement about launching flights to Armenia.
“Turkish Airlines' entry into the Armenian market has always been discussed but never materialized due to political reasons. I don’t know when it will happen, as there are technical and legal issues—issues pertaining to licensing—but this is something that will happen soon,” he said.
Other confidence-building measures with Türkiye will also take place, the Armenian MP added.
