Deputy PM lauds German support for peace efforts in South Caucasus

Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Mher Grigoryan, attended an official reception in Yerevan celebrating the German Unity Day, the country's national day.

Deputy PM Grigoryan delivered remarks at the reception, congratulating Germany on Unity Day and wishing peace and prosperity to the nation.

Mher Grigoryan expressed hope that, through joint efforts, the comprehensive cooperation between Armenia and Germany will continue to expand, aimed at strengthening the friendship and well-being of the two peoples, his office said in a press release.

"Armenia and Germany are connected not only by strong interstate ties but also by a shared commitment to fundamental freedoms and the rule of law. The relationship between our countries is based on trust and mutual respect," he said.

Mr. Grigoryan also noted the consistent progress in bilateral cooperation over recent years in areas of mutual interest and emphasized that Armenia deeply values Germany's support for efforts aimed at strengthening peace and stability in the South Caucasus.

The Deputy Prime Minister also praised Germany’s continued support for Armenia’s democratic reforms, sustainable development, and the further deepening of the Armenia-EU partnership. In this context, he highlighted the importance of development programs that have been implemented for many years in Armenia’s priority sectors, with the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the German Development Bank (KfW).
