French President expects swift signing of Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement

French President Emmanuel Macron expects a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan to be signed as soon as possible, according to Azerbaijani media reports.

“This morning, I met with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and later today with President Ilham Aliyev. We hope that the initialing will be followed by the full signing of a peace agreement with all the necessary steps for the complete normalization of relations between the countries in the region,” Macron said at a briefing with journalists.
