Prime Minister Pashinyan meets with UN Secretary-General

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in New York.

According to a readout issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Pashinyan and Guterres emphasized the importance of the initialing of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan on August 8 in Washington, expressing confidence that it will contribute to stability and promote cooperation in the South Caucasus.

Prime Minister Pashinyan and the UN Secretary-General also discussed the organization of the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which will take place in Armenia from October 18 to 30, 2026, as well as issues related to cooperation in this context.

They also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest.
