Information attributed to defense minister is "absurd" - Defense Ministry

Information attributed to the Armenian Minister of Defense that is being spread on websites of unknown origin, including several Azerbaijani media outlets, are not only disconnected from reality but are also absurd, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

"It is impossible to qualify them as "disinformation", even if one wanted to," the statement added. The source of the mentioned material, along with all other related data, has been transferred to the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia for further processing.

The Ministry noted that it will take appropriate measures, including termination of accreditation, against media outlets operating in Armenia that, while accredited by the Ministry of Defense, disseminate the "false" and "clearly defamatory information" referring to the websites of unknown origin and Azerbaijani media outlets.
