Foreign trade turnover in January–August 2025 dropped by 41.1% compared to the same period last year, amounting to more than $12.9 billion, according to the Statistical Committee.
Breaking down the figure, exports fell by 48.8% and totaled over $5 billion, while imports decreased by 34.9%, amounting to just over $7.9 billion.
The decline in foreign trade has previously been attributed by Armenian officials to a drop in re-export activity, which, according to them, provides no real economic benefit—therefore, the decrease has no negative impact.
