Armenian Ambassador presents credentials to Hungarian President

Armenian Ambassador to Hungary Haykak Arshamyan presented his credentials to President Tamás Sulyok. 

During the tete-a-tete meeting following the official ceremony, the President of Hungary congratulated Ambassador Haykak Arshamyan on assuming his position and wished him success in fulfilling this responsible mission, the foreign ministry said in a press release.

During the meeting, the historical ties between Armenian and Hungarian peoples were highlighted along with the importance of continuously activating mutual contacts between the two societies. The sides also discussed the current developments in Armenia-Hungary relations in the fields of economy, education, culture and other areas, as well as the further opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation. 

The ambassador and the president also exchanged views on recent regional developments, with particular emphasis on the agreements reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington on August 8 of this year, noting their significance in the historic progress toward establishing peace in the region and normalizing relations between the two countries.
