The Armenian Embassy in China organized an official reception to mark Armenian Independence Day.
The event took place at the China World Hotel in Beijing on September 22.
Anna Hakobyan, the wife of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and CEO of the My Step Foundation, attended the event.
Other attendees included Chinese government officials, ambassadors of various countries to China, heads of international organizations, diplomats, public figures, and members of the Armenian expatriate community.
The guest of honor from the Chinese side was Liu Bin, Member of the CPC Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In his remarks, Armenian Ambassador to China Vahe Gevorgyan said that amid shifting international relations, Armenia has adopted a foreign policy aimed at balancing and diversifying its international relations in order to strengthen national statehood—guided by the fundamental principles of international relations and the idea of peaceful coexistence both in the region and globally.
Ambassador Gevorgyan praised the Strategic Partnership established between Armenia and China by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Tianjin, calling it a testament to the expanding bilateral agenda and strong mutual support on key issues.
He noted that the joint declaration on establishing the strategic partnership highlights both achievements in the relationship and ambitious goals for advancing cooperation in all areas. He emphasized the importance of collaboration within the frameworks of both the Belt and Road Initiative and Armenia’s Crossroads of Peace initiative.
Liu Bin congratulated Armenia on its Independence Day, stating that China—as a good friend and partner—takes sincere pleasure in Armenia’s progress.
He added that Beijing is ready to cooperate with Armenia to promote development, strengthen mutual trust, and boost mutually beneficial cooperation. He also emphasized advancing the traditional friendship between the two nations from a new starting point, within the context of their strategic partnership.
