President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in his speech at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, welcomed the U.S.-brokered Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization process.

“We welcome the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan at the mediation of the U.S. President,” Tokayev said. “This testifies to the fact that even long-standing conflicts can be resolved through diplomacy and common sense. Guided by this principle, Kazakhstan gives preference to diplomacy, de-escalation, and dialogue — not to the use of force.”
