Armenian Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan received the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vassilis Maragos, the ministry said.
Avanesyan highlighted that joint projects are being implemented in several areas, aimed at strengthening the healthcare system's capacities, developing procedures and methodologies and advancing the digital healthcare system.
The meeting focused on ongoing reforms in the sector, with particular emphasis on the introduction of Universal Health Insurance, aimed at improving the accessibility and affordability of healthcare services for citizens.
Initiatives to deepen cooperation with the European Union were also presented, including progress on visa liberalization.
The sides discussed a number of program proposals, particularly in the field of waste management, including medical waste.
