Armenian finance minister meets with IMF mission chief

Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan has met with (International Monetary Fund) IMF Mission Chief to Armenia Alexander Tieman.

“During the meeting, the parties discussed the directions of the 5th review of the Memorandum of Economic and Financial Policies between the Republic of Armenia and the International Monetary Fund, as well as the draft of the upcoming 6th review, and the implementation progress of the Stand-By Arrangement carried out with IMF support,” the finance ministry said in a press release.

During the meeting, Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan highlighted recent reforms in Armenia’s public financial management system. These efforts focus on streamlining budgetary procedures, enhancing the effectiveness of public investments, refining key aspects of tax policy, and mitigating financial risks.

Both sides underscored the importance of maintaining ongoing, constructive dialogue as a foundation for stable and productive cooperation.
