COP17 Armenia: Talks underway with airlines on transportation logistics

As part of ongoing preparations for hosting the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) in 2026, Armenian officials have met with representatives of airlines to discuss organizing inbound and outbound flights during the days of the forum.

Nader Ibrahim, the representative of the Secretariat of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, the Deputy Minister of Environment Vahe Davtyan, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee Mihran Khachatryan and representatives of twenty airlines took part in the meeting, the ministry of the environment said in a press release.

“A number of organizational and logistical issues related to the operational planning of air communication, effective management of passenger flow, and the transportation of international delegations have been discussed,” the ministry said in the press release.

Nader Ibrahim attached importance to collaboration between all parties involved to ensure efficient organization of the conference. Ibrahim has proposed to inventory the technical and operational capabilities of Armenia's air carriers, which will contribute to the clear and organized implementation of air transportation during the days of the conference.

All parties involved expressed readiness for partnership to contribute to successful organization of COP17 and high-level service of delegates.
