Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia.
Minister Mirzoyan noted that although Ambassador Sobhani took the office during a challenging period, the two countries managed not only to overcome difficulties but also to achieve tangible results in bilateral relations.
The sides discussed current and future steps to further develop the Armenia-Iran strategic partnership, covering areas such as infrastructure, energy, and other fields of mutual interest.
Both sides emphasized that cooperation between Armenia and Iran is based on friendship between the two peoples, unconditional respect for principles important for regional peace and mutual understanding on key issues.
For his significant contribution to strengthening relations between Armenia and Iran, Minister Mirzoyan presented Ambassador Sobhani with the Order of Friendship, awarded by decree of the President of Armenia, and wished him success in his future endeavors.
