History Museum of Armenia, British Museum sign memorandum of understanding in London

A memorandum of understanding was signed in London between the History Museum of Armenia and the British Museum, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia has said.

The Armenian delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Alfred Kocharyan, is on a working visit to the United Kingdom from September 7-10. The delegation includes David Poghosyan, Director of the History Museum of Armenia, Syuzanna Khojamiryan, director of the Charents Museum of Literature and Art and Marina Hakobyan, Director of the National Gallery of Armenia.

The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister Alfred Kocharyan, Armenia's Ambassador to the United Kingdom Varuzhan Nersesyan, members of the Armenian delegation, heads of British Museum departments and invited scholars.

Deputy Minister Kocharyan stressed that the document opens new prospects for cooperation. He noted that the exhibition "Mother Goddess: From Anahit to Mariam", jointly organized with the British Museum and held at the History Museum of Armenia in 2024, was a significant step in the developing cultural partnership between Armenia and the United Kingdom.

He expressed confidence that the memorandum will contribute to the deepening of intercultural cooperation, the expansion of partnerships, the establishment of new ties and the development of cultural exchanges.
