Prosecutor-General of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, on the sidelines of the 30th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) in Singapore, met with Prosecutor-General of Sweden, Katarina Johansson Welin.

Vardapetyan thanked her counterpart for accepting the invitation to hold a meeting, outline the priorities of cooperation and the commitment to collaboratively addressing the challenges to criminal justice, Vardapetyan’s office said in a press release.

The meeting also addressed, among others, the opportunities to develop international-legal cooperation between Armenia and Sweden and prospects of deepening partnership within the framework of Eurojust.

Vardapetyan is visiting Singapore to participate in the 30th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP).

Vardapetyan was nominated as member of the IAP Executive Committee during the body's April 8 meeting in Buenos Aires. The election of a member to the Executive Committee is expected during the current conference. Armenia has been a member of the IAP since 1999 but this marks the first time an Armenian Prosecutor-General is nominated for membership to the Executive Committee.
