Armenian interior minister, U.S. ambassador discuss partnership

Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan has met with U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien.
Sargsyan expressed gratitude to the U.S. for the continuous support for police reforms, emphasizing the visible results, the ministry said in a readout.
The Ambassador said that the U.S. highly values the strategic relations with Armenia. She highlighted the productive cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the U.S. Embassy.
The parties attached importance to the August 8 Washington meetings, which have become the foundation for strategic cooperation in new directions between the Armenia and the U.S.
The minister and the ambassador discussed joint projects and new directions of partnership, including the steps towards the development of the patrol service, the criminal police, the police national guard and the Ministry of Internal Affairs Academy.
The steps towards launching the cyber-laboratory and training of police guard officers were addressed.
Other matters of bilateral interest were also discussed.
