Iranian top security official welcomes Armenian-Azerbaijani accords

Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, has presented details about his meeting with Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

He said that during the meeting in Tehran, both sides lauded the institutional ties between their offices and expressed confidence that they would continuously strengthen and develop.

“During the meeting we discussed the latest regional developments, and in this context, I presented the agreements signed on August 8 and stated that the process of unblocking regional economic infrastructures will take place exclusively within the framework of full respect for the principles of the countries’ territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, inviolability of borders and reciprocity. A. Larijani welcomed the agreements towards establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, attaching importance to ensuring stability and security in South Caucasus,” Grigoryan said in a statement on social media.

He said they also discussed the bilateral agenda between Armenia and Iran, emphasizing the need for strengthening economic partnership.
