Conflict with Armenia has ended, says Azerbaijan’s Aliyev

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said that the initialing of the peace agreement with Armenia has put an end to the conflict between the two countries.

“The fact that this document has been initialed actually puts an end to the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict,” the Azerbaijani Azertac state news agency quoted President Aliyev as saying.

“At the same time, an overland connection with our historical homeland of Nakhchivan has also been secured,” he said, referring to the unblocking of connections.

“The Armenia-Azerbaijan reconciliation process is nearly complete, and the signed documents fully meet our interests,” he added.

Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan likewise said after the initialing of the peace treaty in Washington that peace has been established with Azerbaijan.
