Mirzoyan briefs Lavrov on Washington accords

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan spoke by phone with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the Armenian Foreign Ministry has said in a readout.

Mirzoyan presented to the Russian counterpart the results of the negotiations held on August 8, 2025 in the US capital Washington, in particular, the initialing of the “Agreement on Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan”, the joint application to the OSCE on the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group mechanisms, as well as emphasized the reaffirmed fundamental principles on the issue of unblocking regional communications.

Minister Mirzoyan expressed gratitude to the Russian Foreign Minister for this congratulations and support on this important milestone.

The sides also discussed Armenia-Russia bilateral cooperation.
