US President Donald Trump welcomed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the White House. During the welcoming ceremony, when asked by a reporter about his confidence in achieving lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Trump replied, “Very confident.”
Trump did not respond to a subsequent question regarding whether the day’s agreement would protect Christians. Afterwards the two presidents entered the White House.
