Armenian, Greek deputy FMs discuss regional, international issues

On July 30, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan, who is on a working visit to New York, met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Greece Yiannis Loverdos.

The officials commended the positive dynamics in the traditionally friendly relations between Armenia and Greece and expressed readiness to elevate cooperation in areas of mutual interest to a new level, the foreign ministry said in a press release.

In this context, the importance of organizing high-level mutual visits was stressed.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia briefed the interlocutor on the steps taken by the Government of Armenia following the adoption of the law "On the launch of the process of accession of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union", and exchanged views on the 8th Summit of the European Political Community set to be held in Yerevan next year.

Vahan Kostanyan and Yiannis Loverdos also touched upon current issues on the regional and international agenda. Vahan Kostanyan presented to his interlocutor the latest developments in the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process.
