Heat wave expected in Armenia

The temperature will reach +40 degrees Celsius this week, meteorologists said Monday.

A heat wave is expected in Yerevan and elsewhere across the country, particularly in the Ararat Plain, in the foothills of Vayots Dzor, and in the valley zone of Syunik province from July 28 until August 2, the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center said in a press release.

The temperature will reach 38-40 degrees Celsius around 16:00-17:00 during those days.

Meteorologists warned of a high fire risk in the abovementioned areas, as well as the foothills of Aragatsotn and Kotayk.
