Prosecutors appeal court's parole ruling for convicted murderer

The General Prosecutor's Office has appealed a court ruling that granted parole to Mher Yenokyan, a convicted murderer who had been serving a life sentence since 1996 until today.
'An appellate complaint has been filed, and proceedings are underway,' the prosecution said.
Yenokyan was convicted in 1996 for the murder of his university classmate. Initially sentenced to death, his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment after capital punishment was abolished in 2003.
