Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan has met with the Minister of Culture of Greece Lina Mendoni.
The meeting took place at the National Gallery of Greece.
Andreasyan emphasized that the Armenia-Greece friendly ties and historical similarities have solid foundation to strengthen and expand cooperation especially in culture.
She presented the main directions of developing the culture area and attached importance to joint projects in various directions.
Both sides underscored that a great potential for development of mutually-beneficial cooperation exists and expressed readiness to enhance bilateral ties through joint projects.
The ministers discussed exchange programs, cooperation between museums, culture days events, joint exhibitions and filmmaking projects, preservation of cultural heritage and exchange of experience in management.
After the meeting the sides signed documents on cooperation. The ministers signed a Culture Cooperation Plan, Agreement on Preventing Trafficking of Cultural Values, Memorandum of Cooperation between Armenia’s National Philharmonic Orchestra and the Thessaloniki Concert Hall and a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Armenian Cinema Foundation and the Greek Cinema Center.
The ministers expressed conviction that the agreements will boost cooperation.
