Deputy FM Vahan Kostanyan holds meeting with Minister of European Affairs of Montenegro

On July 22, within the framework of the working visit to Montenegro, Vahan Kostanyan,  the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia, had a meeting with Maida Gorčević, the Minister of European Affairs of Montenegro.

During the meeting,  issues on Montenegro’s accession process to the European Union were discussed, particularly accession negotiations, the harmonization with EU legislation, the alignment with  EU sectoral standards, the existing challenges encountered along the way, and the procedures for overcoming them, the Armenian Foreign Ministry has said in a readout.

Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan underscored the importance of studying Montenegro’s experience, bearing in mind the progress Montenegro has made in the accession negotiations since 2012, while also emphasizing that such visits and the exchange of best practices with partner countries are vital for Armenia in further deepening relations with the EU. The Deputy Minister also presented the significant progress achieved recently within the framework of the Armenia-EU partnership.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue effective cooperation on issues of mutual interest in the context of European integration.
